True Blood – Now Available in Comic Book Form!

Top Cow, the publisher responsible for bringing us some of the more kickass titles in the comic book world such as Witchblade and Darkness, is now tackling HBO’s vampire series True Blood. In conjunction with Spacedog Entertainment, True Blood: The Great Revelation will act as a prequel to the TV series and is also being penned by the author of the two previously mentioned comics, David Wohl.

Starting on July 24th, readers will be able to check out the first 16 pages of the comic on HBO’s website. If you’re attending this year’s SDCC, a printed version will be handed out free for attendees. Also at Comic-Con, HBO will be hosting a True Blood panel with series director Alan Ball and author Charlaine Harris.

“True Blood: The Great Revelation tells of a world where vampires emerge from the shadows to join everyday society. After centuries of living in darkness, they are able to make their presence known with the advent of a synthetic blood — Tru Blood — created by a Japanese company, which allows them to co-exist peacefully with humans without murderous feedings. But for many humans this revelation is greeted with the fear of the unknown.
