Halloween: SamSince Devil’s Due Publishing started doing their own Halloween books a few years back, ignoring most of the sequels and especially the remake, at least fans of Michael Myers know there’s one place where their favorite boogeyman stays true to his roots.

Halloween: Nightdance was the latest and received all manner of critical acclaim, and good for us, Devil’s Due has a lot more planned for the near future! In fact we just got an e-mail with art and info on all the planned Halloween comic goodness on their way, so start digging down now!

First off, this month sees the online publication of Sam, a free short story that tells of the last days of Myers’ nemesis, Dr. Sam Loomis. The comic will be available on Halloween Comics as a PDF for all to enjoy later this month.

Halloween: Nightdance trade! The Halloween: Nightdance trade paperback will follow in July. Stefan Hutchinson wrote Nightdance and Hack/Slash mastermind Tim Seeley provided the art. The story found Myers in the small town of Russellville, IL, where he makes the lives of various teenagers both terrifying a short. The trade will also come with a free bonus story, “Charlie”, about Russellville’s own infamous serial killer.

August will see the publication of Halloween: 30th Anniversary Special, a double-sized book filled with stories inspired by the original Halloween. Many talents contributed to this book including Seeley, Danijel Zezelj and Jeff Zornow. There are a total of four covers available for it, three regular and one “incentive” cover for retailers. Check ‘em out.

Last but certainly not least, September will see a brand-new Halloween series coming to stores; Halloween: The First Death of Laurie Strode. Following the events of Halloween 2, it tells of how the citizens of Haddonfield deal with what happened on that fateful Halloween night.

There will be more, don’t worry about that, but for now be sure to visit Halloween Comics to keep track of what’s coming out and when and to get more teasing information!
