OK all you Dreadites, it’s time to make your voices heard once more. The other night yours truly went and assisted Bay Area horror goddess Shannon Lark shoot her entry for this year’s Miss Horrorfest contest. Chainsaws, blood and a tight red dress. What more do you want? Directed by Shannon herself, shot by ace cinematographer Steev Dinkins, and assisted by a crew of grue loving maniacs, we think we may have a winner on our bloodied hands. Some of you may know Shannon through her work with the zombie dance/performance troupe The Living Dead Girlz, who’ve appeared at cons over the last couple of years. Some of you may know her through her short film and stage work like “The Elm St. Murders”. Shannon is a one-woman dynamo of all things frightful. Writing, directing, producing, acting … she seriously has the goods and deserves to win this thing. She’s pushed the genre forward for years here in the Bay Area with her organization The Chainsaw Mafia too, helping horror filmmakers get their stuff shot and seen. So let’s get that tiara of terror on Shannon’s head where it belongs by helping her out with our support.
Not to mention the newly formed Bad Cadaver is doing the music, a soundtrack duo comprised of rea metal stalwarts Sean Smithson (Sacrilege BC … yeah that’s me, dang it) and Sean McGrath (Impaled/Ghoul).
