Stockwell to Get Villainous

Though few have seen John Stockwell’s debut into our genre, Turistas, those who have generally have some very positive things to say about it. If the film is worth a look (and we’ll find out when Fox Atomic releases it on December 1st), then director Stockwell’s decision to stick to our genre is certainly welcomed.
2929 Productions has announced, via The Hollywood Reporter, that it is in final negotiations for Stockwell to direct Villains from a script by Joshua Zetumer. Villains will take place in that most unwelcoming of locales, the frozen wastelands of the Pacific Northwest, telling the tale of a forest fire spotter with a secret who receives an unexpected visit from his crazy brother.
That could lead to all sorts of interesting scenarios, but we’ll leave it up to the screenwriter and director to let it be told the way they see it needs to be. Assuming all goes well, Villains looks to roll by the first of the year.
