Sony Sinks Into The Marsh
Though I’m sure it’s not the first time it’s been mentioned anywhere, a virtual flip through the pages of Variety this morning marked the first time I’d heard of the Canadian horror film The Marsh, one of the many films Sony scooped up from this years AFM.
The Marsh stars Gabrielle Anwar (Body Snatchers) as a children’s writer who is overly stressed by her job so decides to take a holiday in the country. As is always the case with scary movies, her vacation turns nightmarish when she becomes wrapped up in a supernatural mystery that she’s forced to solve. Ghosts and Forest Whittaker come into play. Ain’t that always the way?
Though it seems to be firmly in the PG-13 category, most of the early reviews I found online for The Marsh were positive, calling it an old-school, creepy horror film. I can always get behind that! Stay tuned for news on Sony’s plans for The Marsh as we learn them!
