According to Variety, Slamdance has chosen Glenn McQuaid’s I Sell the Dead to kick off this year's festival, which runs in Park City, Utah, January 15-23, 2009. Quite an honor for the film, which is a production of Larry Fessenden’s Glass Eye Pix, and it’s only one of many reasons why Slamdance is going to be cooler than Sundance next year.
Other reasons include Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Undead, Mum & Dad, Conjurer (review), and a documentary about violent porn websites (!) called Graphic Sexual Horror which, I’m sorry to say, is one of the coolest titles ever.
Check out Slamdance’s official site for all the information you may need as to how you can be a part of this year’s show!

I was curious myself!
Graphic Sexual Horror (dot com)
It's actually a really dark documentary about insex.com, a fetish website (now shut down by the feds).
I have to say it's much darker than anything Cronenberg could come up with.
Everything in that documentary actually happened.
There are no exploding heads, but it's really scary.
I saw the trailers and what scares me the most is the film is about extreme things people do for sex and money...
but isn't that what we do in our day-to-day life anyway?
We all compromise.
