Dan Madigan, the mind that brought us the bit of brutality known as See No Evil (review) is not done with the horror genre. Two years after Kane (or 'Fake Desiel' as my wrestling friends still call him) terrorized a hot young cast, the writer has lined up a few intriguing flicks.
According to Fango, Mr. Madigan is in the process of tying up an "original script called Graveland for hot director Roel Reiné and producer Andy Ackerman. It’s a wild cross between Ghostbusters, Poltergeist and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and is very, very dark, funny and scary. Everyone involved is very excited about bringing this comically macabre story to life.”
Roel Reiné's other current projects include an After Dark picture titled The Lost Tribe and stars Lance Henriksen. On a side note, Lance also told Dan Madigan that the writer's other upcoming project, Necro Sapiens, has an ending which reminds the genre fave “of The Wild Bunch if it were written by James Cameron on acid, and that it’s a horrific hybrid of Dawn of the Dead and Dog Soldiers. The greatest of compliments, really.”
Gotta admire his enthusiasm about everything, but I'd really like to know more about these movies instead of just comparisons to classics.
