What better way to celebrate their 11th year making one of the most kickass horror mags out there than by getting the one and only Basil freakin’ Gogos to paint your cover? None, I tells ya, none! Now that is a sexy cover!
This big-ass double issue is celebrating 50 years of Famous Monsters of Filmland, the magazine that really started it all, featuring a massive interview with founder Forrest J. Ackerman as well as chats with John Landis, Joe Dante, and Gene Simmons!
The Gore-met compiles the 50 Essential Gore Films for this issue as well, a list that I’m sure will spark more than a few heated debates on message boards across this series of tubes. There will also be a look back at classic horror on the radio, coverage of the upcoming Dead Space video game, and a helluva a lot more!
Rue Morgue issue #83 is on sale this October 1st; if you can’t find it near you, you can always hit up Rue Morgue’s official site and get yourself subscribed. It’s really the only thing that will save you.
