After years of hard work, Repo! The Genetic Opera (review here) is set to be unleashed and it’s an obvious labor of love for the cast and crew who came out to drink the night away at the soundtrack release party in Beverly Hills, CA. Of course, Dread Central was there, pounding endless martinis and rockin’ out to the music alongside Hilton, Ogre, Bill Moseley, Alexa Vega, and writers Darren Smith and Terrance Zdunich.
We’re absolutely nuts about Smith and Zdunich’s eclectic music which is an inventive fusion of industrial rock, classic opera, cabaret, punk, jazz and techno. It’s every bit as original as the movie itself and there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.
The soundtrack will be released online and in stores tomorrow, but if you’re impatient, you can listen to a few samples here and see what all the hype is about. Repo! The Genetic Opera (which already takes our list as one of the year’s best films) hits select theaters November 7th.
