Repo! Gets Date and Trailer Returns
Last week the new trailer for Repo! appeared and disappeared from the Net pretty quickly, but it has reappeared over at the Repo! site in much higher quality than its YouTube counterpart.
Visitors to the webpage will also get a video greeting from Darren Bousman wherein he promises that new content will be added shortly; they're just running a bit behind schedule. Darren doesn't make mention of the musical's theatrical release date, but BD did!
According to them, Lionsgate is looking to have Repo! The Genetic Opera (review) out in cinemas by November 7th; however, this date is not totally official. How many theatres will be getting Repo'd? According to an update over at Fangoria ... it may be limited.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (review) isn't going to disappoint, that's for sure, and by the looks of things, the film's official site isn't letting down visitors either.

Lionsgate has gone from a studio that once had balls to a studio that is trying really hard to cut its balls off on a daily basis. It now seems flat-out terrified of the very genre that gave it success (pretty ironic).
Here's hoping Repo! is dropped into at least one Philly theater...

Simply put, Lionsgate became Dimensionalized. They got a taste of the money, and they went nutso with it. Now, they don't want to release anything wide that can't bring in money (thanks, Saw), and they fill their coffers with Straight to DVD dreck.
Again, I'm embarrassed to have supported them earlier.

Trying to cut them off with a rusty butter knife nonetheless.

Dammit. I was looking forward to seeing this in the theaters. Hopefully it'll be playing somewhere near where I live.
