We all know by now that Jack Ketchum’s Offspring is the latest adaptation of the man’s work to come to the big screen. It’s in post production now and from what I’ve heard is looking pretty good. But what about the book’s prequel, The Off Season (review)? Well, that’s been having some rights issues that may be straightened out soon.
Over the weekend, Eric Red’s latest film 100 Feet screened at Screamfest LA, and of course Red was on hand to discuss it. According to Bloody Disgusting, he told the crowd in attendance that he’s working with Ketchum to make The Off Season. Funny, because I was actually talking to Jack about this very subject at this weekend’s Rock and Shock; didn’t realize it’d be public knowledge so soon!
"I've known Jack for 30 years and we've been wanting to do this together, and I think now's the time." Red told the audience. Couldn’t agree more, sir! We’ll keep you up to date on how the project develops!
