Wow, it’s been a while since I heard anything about this possible remake. The biggest issue with switching sites as much as we have is you lose all those old news stories that would be great to reference in situations like this. I can tell you we last made mention of it in May of 2005 cause that’s when Ain’t It Cool caught the first scent of a whole new Death.
Variety got word this morning that Rogue Pictures is in the process of developing a brand-new Faces of Death film with Soft For Digging/S&Man helmer J. T. Petty attached to direct. Producer Don Murphy has been talking about remaking this for a while now as a more straightforward, storyline based horror film rather than the psuedo-doccumentary style that made the original so infamous. Good to see it finally coming to fruition and with a very talented director behind it.
The only thing we can be sure of is that Dr. Francis Gross, the recurring character who appeared in every Faces of Death entry, will be making a return though it’s unclear whether or not he’ll yet again be played by Michael Carr. We’ll have more for you soon so don’t freakin’ move!
