Though it’s been a while since we’ve heard from director Julian (The Last Horror Movie) Richards about his latest feature, Summer Scars (“Festivals for Richard’s Scars” – September 2007), that doesn’t mean he’s been sitting idly on the film hoping for something good to happen.
Nope, he’s got it out to festivals all across the planet, and most recently it won the Best Actor award at the Austin Fantastic Fest and was nominated for Best UK Feature at London’s Raindance. Richards just sent us the new still you see on your right along with the film’s grueling spring festival schedule, which you can dig on below!
Summer Scars stars Last Horror Movies’s Kevin Howarth as a demented man living in the middle of the forest who takes a group of kids hostage. Richards is attending the European Film Market at the Berlin Film Festival next week, where he’s hoping to close a North American distro deal for Scars. ”We have been approached by several North American companies,” the director said, ”so I'm hoping to have something concrete to report after Berlin".
Here’s where you can see Summer Scars this spring; we’ll have more details for you very soon!
Don't tell us what you do in the woods in the Dread Central forums!
