More Friday Special Editions Coming with Some "Interesting" Insight!

And the Friday news keeps on coming! There's no doubt about it; 2009 is shaping up to be Jason's year! Paramount Home Entertainment in association with King Media have tapped one of the creative minds behind the much anticipated documentary His Name Was Jason (expect a full review soon), Dan Farrands, has begun work on the special features for Friday 4, 5, and 6. His first order of business? Commentary tracks, and you may be a little surprised as to who was the first to show up!

In addition to the cast and or crew, the "Tommy Jarvis Trilogy" films will be sporting fan commentaries by Staci Layne Wilson of Horror.com, Ryan Rotten of STYD, filmmakers Adam Green and Joe Lynch, and ... well ... me!

Green and Lynch tackled The Final Chapter, Staci and I withstood A New Beginning, and Rotten and I sent it home on Jason Lives. Each commentary (so I've been told) is said to be "hilarious". Given the fact that usually the participants are the last ones to know how it went, I'll just have to take everyone's word for now. I can tell you this though ... Staci got just as raunchy as I did (HOT), Rotten was the perfect factoid doling straight man to my color, and Lynch and Green were ... Lynch and Green! The whole experience was an honor and a pleasure!

Expect good things when these are released later in the year. For now dig on the pics below (click 'em to see them larger) courtesy of Lynch, Rotten, and Staci!

I have two questions:
1. Are the commentaries just comedy tracks or are we going to get some serious discussion of the merits of the films, etc mixed in?

2. Now that we know officially that Adam Greene and Joe Lynch know each other, when are we going to get an Adam Greene scripted Joe Lynch directed film? That would be real money.

I was there during the recording of both of Creepy's commentaries, and there are plenty of factoids sprinkled in with the mayhem. I'm pretty sure Green & Lynch's is the same.

As for your #2 question, did you ever see Joe & Adam's Road to FrightFest short films? They are a great indication of how well these two guys work together. Money indeed!

OK because I like my factoids in with my humor.

I also think that Green-Lynch film collaboration needs to happen as soon as possible.

I'm waiting for that press release where Paramount states that everything, despite what one of the commentary guests, is not "NICE!". " :D

I think that'll hold the record for "Most Profane Commentary."

They just might be the first commentaries ever to be censored! ;)

Every F-bomb has now been replaced with "NICE!" and/or "MICHAEL BAY ATE MY BABY!"
