More Chain Casting, Smith Speaks!

Even more casting news came down the wire today via The Hollywood Reporter for the upcoming Deon Taylor horror flick Chain Lettter, which both confirms and expands upon the exclusive bit of news we had yesterday (“More Plot, Casting for Chain Letter!” – November 2007).
Keith David, Noah Segan and Betsy Russell (pictured) have all landed roles in the film, as well as our previously announced Nikki Reed. Further clarification on the plot reveals that the kids fall victim to a vicious murderer (Michael Bailey Smith) when they fail to forward chain mail. See, I always knew that would happen…
Smith gave us a bit more about the film, which is currently rolling in Northern California: “Chain Letter has the feel of Final Destination and Candy Man.” he explained. “There’s a pretty good body count and I have some good, unique kills in this. My character is pretty relentless and let me tell you, I’m going to ‘bring it.’ Those kids are going to shit their pants when I come after them. I’m wearing a mangled ski mask that shows a pretty hideous face. There won’t be a lot of prosthetics, so you’ll get to recognize me somewhat when I’m finally revealed. But you can be sure; I’ll still be pretty hideous.”
Every day we seem to get more info that indicates Chain Letter will be one to keep watch on, if for nothing else than to see Smith take on another meaty role. Pun intended. Keep it here for more as we learn it!
