Moore Catches Virulents

I had this whole plan in mind to write about what a bad idea it was to hire The Omen remake director John Moore to do anything horror related again. Then I realized that we don’t actually know what kind of horror director he is, since his Omen was almost a shot-for-shot retelling of the original.

So maybe it won’t be so bad?

Daily Variety announced that New Regency is jumping on board the war horror/comic adaptation trend with Virulents, a film to be based on the Virgin Comics title of the same name with Moore in the director’s seat. The story is about a group of soldiers, some American and some Indian, who stumble on a nest of vampire zombies (?) while searching for a lost patrol in Afghanistan.

Regency’s had their hand in all sorts of movies as of late, include Alexandre Aja’s Mirrors remake, and it’s only their eclectic mix of titles that gives me some hope for this one. Stick around for more as we learn it!
