Midnight Movie Site is Live!

A few months back, you might recall we gave you the first word on a new horror flick that seemed to come from nowhere called Midnight Movie (“First Look at Midnight Movie!” – September 2007). Since then all has been pretty quite for the flick, but today we got a progress report from director Jack Messitt.
Frist up, the official site for Midnight Movie is fully functioning and ready to treat you to all sorts of cool stuff. It’s going to take some clicking, but once there you’ll find the film’s trailer, behind the scenes info and a lot more. The site’s very well done; and the movie don't look too bad, either!
Officially they’re just over a month way from locking picture, with Pixel Magic in LA working on the final digital effects and sound being completed in the Philippines. Look for it to be rolling into film festivals this season if all goes well!
For those too lazy to click, Midnight Movie takes place during a once-in-a-lifetime screening of a film not seen on the big screen since the 70’s. Little does the curious audience know, but the filmmaker was a talented crazy man and managed to fuse himself with the actual film stock, so when the big bad killer makes its appearance it breaks through to our reality to cause havoc.

Malevolence Prequel Trailer!Those crazy bastards over at Icons of Fright just got the first look at the trailer for Steve Mena’s Malevolence: Bereavement, the prequel to his 2005 debut, Malevolence. The film is the story of the breaking of Martin Bristol, the killer we witnessed messing things up in the first movie, as he’s trained to be a remorseless madman by serial killer Graham Sutter. No word on a release date yet but we’ll keep you posted.
Actually, it sounds like straight-up combination of CIGARETTE BURNS and WES CRAVEN'S NEW NIGHTMARE.
Still, I'll check it out on DVD.
