Mean Girls in a Trance
Perhaps you recall a film we told you about a while back called Trance (“Rodionoff Directs a Trance” – October 2007)? If not, no worries cause there wasn’t a whole helluva lot of info on it anyway.
STYD fixed that today, however, when they chatted up the film’s director, Hans Rodionoff (pictured). Based on a script by John “Arrow in the Head” Faloon, Trance is a story of drugs gone very, very bad;
”The general premise is these eight kids go to a rave, they take drugs and the drugs have no discernible effect on the male population.” the screenwriter-cum-director told the site, ”It turns the females into raving psychotics who then turn on their boyfriends and start tearing them apart. In that I saw shades of [Jack Ketchum's] 'Ladies Night,' I saw shades of Girls by the Luna brothers - I saw a lot of really cool stuff. You have all of that couched on a Doug Lyman film like Go. You set this thing in a Halloween rave then you have a girl in a really hot Alice in Wonderland outfit with blood up to her elbows."
Sounds like an insanity-filled good time to me! Hit the link above for more comments from Rodionoff, as well as the first production still, and keep it here for more on Trance as we learn it!
Be thankful your woman problems aren't that bad in the Dread Central forums!

Before Darren Lynn Bousman got behind the camera to make Repo! The Genetic Opera a reality, he made a short film with some friends on the weekend to prove how good it could be. Since there are some legal SAG issues with posting the entire short, he recently updated his MySpace page with the good news that you can, at least, check out how the short opened. And it’s animated! Dig it below!

What the hell's up with all of these movies based on raves? Didn't rave culture die off 5 years ago? Or am I just really unhip?
