His Name Was Jason Premiere Set!
The highly anticipated documentary about all things Jason Voorhees, His Name Was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th, is finally all cut and ready to roll out for fans! We got a heads up today that the documentary will be premiering at the upcoming 2008 Starz Denver Film Festival as part of the festival’s celebration of soon-to-be classics, The Watching Hour.
SDFF runs from November 13th–23rd this year, and His Name Was Jason will be debuting at 11:59PM on November 14th with Ari Lehman, the first Jason, in attendance to intro the film!
"We're proud to premiere this film and pay tribute to a man who has hacked his way into people's hearts and given so much back to the cinematic community," said Keith Garcia, host and curator of The Watching Hour and programming manager of the Starz FilmCenter. "Ever since we started The Watching Hour, each year has been better than the last. That is especially true this year with the world premiere of such a long-awaited film like His Name Was Jason."
I can’t say if we’ll have anyone there for the premier, Colorado is an odd place to premiere a slasher documentary if you ask me, but since our man Andrew Kasch helped make the doc and Uncle Creepy is in it, I’m sure we’ll be bringing you a review very soon!
