Halloween: The Mark of Thorn coverThe season is starting early this year with a new comic line written by Stef Hutchinson and Jeff Katz. The comics will be distributed through Devil’s Due Publishing and Compass International Pictures.

Hutchinson sent along some exclusive cover art, as well as the following description penned by the man himself:

Halloween: The Mark of Thorn is an all-new tale that takes a fresh look at the Halloween franchise through the eyes of one of the original film’s survivors, Tommy Doyle. Many years have passed, and now Tommy Doyle is a happily married comic book writer and artist living in Salt Lake City. He’s persuaded by his editor to write a fictionalized version of the events that happened to him – a story that will attempt to make sense of the madness that happened when serial killer Michael Myers butchered his way through the small town of Haddonfield all those years ago.

As Tommy’s story begins, he starts to bring to life monsters from the past and secrets that should have remained buried – the worlds of fact and fiction blur, leading to an inevitable confrontation with his biggest fear of all, Michael Myers!”

The story will be scripted by the team of regular series writer Stefan Hutchinson and fan-favorite Jeff Katz (Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash / Booster Gold). It will begin a month after the current series, The First Death of Laurie Strode, finishes, and artists will be announced shortly.

The latest issue is released tomorrow – Halloween: The First Death of Laurie Strode #2 will be available in good comic shops everywhere!

Look forward to it! I’m particularly interested in the strange scarecrow Myers see on your right. Be sure to hit up the Halloween comics site for more information!
