Get Ready to Rave for The Rage
We just got the word from Robert Kurtzman that principal photography on his much anticipated new film The Rage wrapped up this week in North Central Ohio. According to Kurtzman, shooting went "according to plan and without incident." Kurtzman’s Precinct 13 Entertainment is doing it all with local funding, its own sound stage, and an in-house CG department. You gotta love hearing about success like that outside the Hollywood sphere.
As everyone should know by now, The Rage stars genre favorites Andrew (Wishmaster) Divoff, Reggie (Phantasm) Bannister, and Erin (MOH's "Sick Girl") Brown. Divoff portrays Dr. V, a mad scientist who releases a "rage" toxin via some bloodthirsty vultures. Kurtzman calls it a "retro-style horror film ... packed with special creature effects and lots of fun bloodletting." It also features a "huge rave sequence with 150 extras at an outdoor concert where our lead characters are having a night out." The band Mushroomhead performs in the film along with local Ohio band Senior Citizen.
The Rage now enters post production, where all the visual and sound effects will come together (Midnight Syndicate is working on the score), with an eye to completion in early 2007.
