We were one of the first to tell you about the return of Hammer Film Studios (“New Hammer Film Ready to Roll!” – September 2007) and because of our diligence, we managed to get our filth-encrusted paws on an official press release for the film, Beyond the Rave.
The story follows the last hours of freedom for soldier Ed, set to ship out to Iraq the very next day. He spends his last night in the UK hunting down his girlfriend, last seen partying with a bunch of nighttime ravers led by someone named Melech. When they eventually come upon the party Jen’s wound up at, they discover that the ravers want a bit more than some hits of E to get through the night.
Nora-Jane Noone (The Descent) Tamer Hassan (The Ferryman), Sebastian Knapp (28 Days Later), Les Simpson (Dog Soldiers), and Hammer legends Ingrid Pitt (pictured), Sadie Frost and Phil Bush are just some of the cast that have signed on for the UK production house’s (hopefully) triumphant return.
Effects are being handled by Tristan Versluis, whose resume includes movies like Isolation, Evil Aliens and The Devil’s Chair, and music video/short film director Matthias Hoene is at the helm for what will be an online serial, though when we originally got wind of it there was talk of releasing it as an entire film, as well.
