Fraser Up for New Mummy

Although confirming that he’s interested in returning to the role that gave him some infamy is not really a surprise (would he really be above doing another Mummy movie? I think not), Brendan Fraser doesn’t have any say on whether or not he’ll be able to reprise his role as Rick in the upcoming Rob Cohen-lensed Mummy 3.
“I would like to very much,” the thespian told Sci Fi Wire. “It’s down to decisions made in offices somewhere in Los Angeles. I’m waiting for a script. Keep your fingers crossed.” Indeed, what would a Mummy movie be without Fraser? Pretty damn dull if you ask me. Yes, I do enjoy them for their popcorn-movie appeal, so sue me.
Little is known about the sequel, only that it will follow the adventures of the O’Connell family, complete with grown-up son Alex, now an adventurer just like his dad. Or at least he will be once he faces a mummy. Again. If they get Fraser, hopefully Rachel Weisz won’t be far behind, cause she sure is easy on the old optical nerves.
