Fear Fest Follies

Things started off badly. Flights were canceled. Dallas was snowed in. There was so much more to do and no way to get it done. Sometimes it feels as if every force in the universe is aligned against you. But there's a job to get done. Thousands of fans were lining up for a fun weekend, and by hook or by crook they were going to get it. Besides, we had some serious partying to do, and nothing was going to get in the way of that!

Ladies and gentleman ... Welcome to Fear Fest 2.

So we've been tossing around the idea all week -- do we do a write-up on our own show in conjunction with our brothers in harm at Pit of Horror? For us the idea seemed kind of masturbatory, and honestly, none of us care too much for backpatting. Thankfully, the guys at Icons of Fright put up a completely unbiased event report, and who better to judge us than our peers? Click that link to get the goodies.

We'd like to take this opportunity to give out a few quick thank yous to some folks who made the weekend as special as it was ...

First and foremost John Gray, Rich, Petch, and the rest of the Pit crew. If we're the blood that gets things pumping, then you all are without a doubt the heart and soul. This could never have happened without you. Words alone cannot describe what a pleasure it is and how blessed we are to be working with you. A thousand thanks is not nearly enough.

Next up Sean Clark and Bill Philputt. Your wellspring of talent has brought smiles to many faces. You're both rock and roll. Thank you.

Next are Robert Englund, Tim Sullivan and his Maniacs, and all the celebs that made it through the hours of airport mishaps to get to the show and work your asses off with the many in attendance. It was an honor to see you in action, both at the con and of course after hours. My head is still pounding. We love you, and it's our pleasure to return to you all of the support you've given us.

To the entire Dread staff. There's no finer group of people assembled. Thanks for all the passion, the dedication, and everything you've done despite of all the shit you put up with from me, Butane, and Condit. You're all valuable parts of this machine, and each of you means the world to us.

And finally to the fans. Make no mistake this is all about you. The people who listen to our podcasts, those who tune in every day, and of course visit us at the cons -- we wouldn't exist without you. You're the reason we're here, and we'll never lose sight of that. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
