Exclusive: Otis Audio Makeup Walkthrough!

We’ve been working with Tony Krantz, one of the three producers behind the Raw Feed DVD series as well as the director of Sublime (DVD review) from the first batch and Otis (review) from the forthcoming set, to put together some very unique goodies just for Dread Central readers.

Today we’re very proud to present the first of those features: a makeup effects audio walkthrough with Tony and effects man Myke Michaels featuring stills from the film and behind-the-scenes. We’ve never tried anything like this before, but damn was it fun!

Before we go much further, I have to warn you: There are some SPOILERS discussed in the last few pictures, nothing too huge but I know how much it'd piss me off if I wasn't warned!

On the right you'll see a series of images from Otis; as you click on them, they will load in the main window with an audio file featuring Tony and Myke discussing what went into that particular scene in terms of what the actor/actress had gone through and the kind of prep work Myke did to make sure the bruises, cuts, and full-on gore effects were as believable as possible.

There’s an intro piece where you can hear about Myke’s history in effects, which is quite impressive on its own, as well as an outro that will give burgeoning effects specialists out there some good ideas on how to get started in the business!

We really hope you guys dig it, so please pile on the feedback below! There’s more coming to spread the word on Otis , which hits DVD June 10th (pre-order), so don’t even consider moving!
