Though we don’t have any solid details on it yet, a very reliable source just let us know that Lionsgate has plans to release Anthony (Waxwork, Hellraiser III) Hickox’s “lost” film, Sundown, on DVD this Halloween!
The horror/comedy, one of the last victims of Vestron before they disappeared in the early 90’s, stars Bruce Campbell as a descendant of Van Helsing who shows up in the Wild West town of Purgatory to eliminate the pesky vampires who inhabit it. David freakin’ Carradine stars as Count Dracula!
Lionsgate will release Sundown with a brand-new transfer and features to be determined soon. Keep it here for more news on the DVD as we get it, and learn more about Hickox and his awesome directorial resume by reading my recent interview with the man!
Discuss Bruce the vamprie killer in the Dread Central forums!

I bought a used VHS of this years and years ago right after it hit video from a Mom n' Pop video store that was going out of business. I was so happy to get it because I read about it in Fangoria and Gorezone and was dying to see it.
I put it in the VCR and the tape broke.
Damn, I got pwn3d. At least now I can buy it!

YES! I've been waiting for this to hit DVD for what seems like eons now. I can remember seeing it on Cinemax in the early '90s.
