A short order of horror is up on November 28th, 2006…

Bloodbath Beyond the Mind's Eye on DVD!Bloodbath Beyond the Mind’s Eye
Directed by Jonn Specht

Two films in one package? My God what will they think of next? Inside here is Absolution, about an angel who descends to Earth to try and stop all manner of evils, but jumping from one human host to another leads the angel to feel the darkest of human desires. The other film in here is Insaniac, about a deranged woman who becomes hypnotized in order to get to the root of her psychosis. Lots of nasty is found within her mind, if you can believe it. Directed by Clarence Fok Yiu-leung

Ugh. Vampires. Can’t really get enough of vamp bashing these days, but I can deal with it better if it’s Asian because … well, I don’t know why but that’s how it is. This horror/comedy from the director of Naked Killer is about a couple of kids who move into a new apartment and one of them falls in love with Jade, the pretty new neighbor, who he soon learns is, you guessed it, a vampire. Underworld marriages and occult experts are out in full force for this bizarre romp! Buy it here!

Directed by Jarin Vongraen

Not too sure what’s so horror about this one, but I guess it takes all kinds. The story is set in Thailand, where a sadistic ruler only showers favors on his beautiful slaves. His wife, however, is incredibly jealous and the slave girls have to deal with her wrath. She’s unable to bear him a child, so she’s even more twisted in the head, getting her only pleasures from watching the concubines be tortured. Sexy! Buy it here!

Directed by Gregory Dark

I never got a chance to see this one in theaters, but most who did reported that it was a fucking blast and a half. Kane plays a psychopath loose in an abandoned hotel, picking off the troubled kids who are there to clean the place up. Lots and lots of violence is the order of the day, so if that’s what you’re in the mood for, this one’s for you. Lionsgate throws on two commentary tracks, a “making of ” featurette, promo spots, storyboard comparisons, and more to sweeten the DVD package. Check out Creepy’s review here for the final verdict.
