Here’s a highlight list of horror DVDs coming out this Tuesday, September, 9th, 2008 … cause I’m too lazy to do a full list. So there.
Click to see it bigger!Child’s Play: 20th Birthday Edition (1988)
Directed by Tom Holland

It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since Don Mancini unleashed a two-foot killer doll on the world and made us realize just how fucking scary toys can be. Now he’s back with a sexy new DVD full of goodies like two audio commentaries (though neither with director Tom Holland), scene commentary by Chucky himself, a ton of featurettes about the making of the film and its impact on horror, and more. Click to see it bigger!Pumpkinhead: Collector’s Edition (1989)
Directed by Stan Winston

Take another trip down memory lane with this new edition of the classic monster movie Pumpkinhead, the only directorial effort from the late Stan Winston. If you’ve never seen this sucker, you’re missing a treat. Not only do you get a young, shirtless Lance Henriksen, but the disc has special features that were shot by our own Andrew Kasch and Buz Wallick! Check out our “>Pumpkinhead DVD review to learn more. Click to see it bigger!Sarah Landon & the Paranormal Hour (2007)
Directed by Lisa Comrie

When is the paranormal hour, you may ask? Between midnight and 1 AM of course. Sarah Landon finds that out when she goes to stay in the guest house of her late friend’s grandmother’s estate and learns just how haunted it is. It was the home of Ben Woods, who was apparently a horrible man who died and vowed vengeance on the small town Sarah Landon finds herself in. Check out our “>Sarah Landon & the Paranormal Hour DVD review to learn how important this movie is. That’s sarcasm, by the way. Buy it here!

Click to see it bigger!Seed (2007)
Directed by Uwe Boll

I hope no one was looking forward to this one too much because, like most of Dr. Boll’s output, it’s pretty terrible. The story follows a serial killer whom the state attempts to execute, but since the electric chair isn’t working, they decide to just bury him alive. He doesn’t take this too well and digs his way out of the ground to go on a revenge trip. Could be fun, but it’s not. Trust me. Check out our “>Seed DVD review to find out how bad it is if you need further examples. Buy it here!

Click to see it bigger!Something Beneath (2007)
Directed by David Winning

Kevin Sorbo as a priest; what the hell more do you need to want to see this sucker right now? Fine, how about a plot? The story is about some toxic slime that amasses on a lake front, which Sorbo-as-priest soon discovers is actually a massive cellular organism that’s got its own intelligence and plans of taking over the world by inducing horrible hallucinations in its victims. Click to see it bigger!Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! (2007)
Directed by Jason M. Murphy

The movie so good they named it three times! Actually I don’t know if it’s any good at all, but it does have hot women, zombies, and hot women killing zombies. It all happens when the living dead overrun a strip club and the only choice these lovely exotic dancers have is to get eaten alive or fight back. One of our favorite scream queens, Tiffany Shepis, stars in it so there’s reason enough to check it out. Oh, and it’s got lots of zombies. Buy it here!
