DiGilio to be Damned
Wow, it’s all about literary adaptations this morning, eh? Which I have to say is a welcome change from story after story about remakes...
Variety reports that David DiGilio has been tapped by Dreamworks to pen the screenplay for The Damned, which started life as a graphic novel from Oni Press written by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt.
The Damned follows an LA detective who new gang with ties to the supernatural have infiltrated his city. Turns out LA is actually being run by three demon families, and pretty soon the dick finds himself way more ensconced in their happenings than I’m sure he ever wanted to be.
DiGilio’s an interesting choice, having only really done the kids movie Eight Below previously, as well as work on the “Traveler” TV series, but maybe a fresh voice is what the project needs?
