Death Note Gets Animated
While we wait to see if the Japanese horror film Death Note, based on the manga of the same name about a kid who finds a notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it, is actually as good as its homeland box office indicates, D.N. Dream Partners have announced that they’re sinking money into TV toon based on the film.
The first part of Death Note was released in Japan on June 17th and made all sorts of money, breaking records left and right. The second part is coming in November, and the cartoon being planned is scheduled for a debut on October 3rd, no doubt to help build the hype about the conclusion of the story.
Unfortunately the Variety story announcing the deal didn’t have a whole helluva lot of details, just that it’s coming soon and that D.N. Dream Partners made their name by creating cell phone content, but hopefully more will be dug up on it really soon. Stay tuned!
