Coraline Producer Working on Deadworld!

An adaptation of the classic zombie comic Deadworld has been in the works in one form or another for a long, long time now. Finally, though, it seems some real progress is being made on it, as Coraline producer Bill Mechanic told MTV this weekend that he’s working on producing Deadworld next.

“I’ve always looked for a good story and these guys have created stories that are so visual that you just see the movie.” Mechanic told the channel, ”There’s a story that needs to be worked out and characters that needs to be worked out, but you at least know what you’re going to do.”

The series was recently re-launched in 2005 after a near 20-year hiatus, and twists the classic zombie story by making the dead just as intelligent as the living. Should be interesting to see where Mechanic goes with it; can you imagine a big-budget, animated 3D zombie film? Probably too cool to be true but we can hope!
