LORDS OF CHAOS to Set New York Ablaze This Weekend Before Wider Release

Regular readers of Dread Central know that I’m a huge fan of the upcoming back metal biopic Lords of Chaos, which I caught at last year’s Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. Now, New Yorkers will be able to experience the explosive drama and face-melting soundtrack when the film, directed by Jonas Åkerlund, hits select theaters there this Friday, February 8th!

Synopsis:
A teenager’s quest to launch Norwegian Black Metal in Oslo in the 1980s results in a very violent outcome. Lords of Chaos tells the true story of True Norwegian Black Metal and its most notorious practitioners – a group of young men with a flair for publicity, church-burning and murder: MAYHEM.

Åkerlund directs Lords of Chaos from a screenplay he co-wrote with Dennis Magnusson based on the nonfiction novel of the same name; the film stars Rory Culkin, Emory Cohen, and Jack Kilmer. In addition to screening in select theaters beginning February 8th, look for Lords of Chaos on VOD beginning February 22nd.
