Black Sheep U.S. Premiere!

Black Sheep to debut this MarchYet another year will soon come and go without me taking part in the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, TX, the one convention I’d be willing to go way out of my way to hit above all others.

Well, except for our own Fear Fest, which is why I’m missing SXSW…

For those of you who aren’t, though, rejoice! The festival directors just announced that Jonathan King’s Black Sheep will be making its U.S. debut at the festival, which runs this March 9th-17th.

Not to be confused with Billy O’Brien’s super serious Isolation, about a genetic experiment that makes something very nasty come out of cows in Ireland, Black Sheep is a horror/comedy about a genetic experiment that turns sheep into bloodythirsty killers in New Zealand, where the population of sheep far outweighs that of humans.

The Weinsteins have their grubby paws on this one with plans to drop it to DVD sometime this year through Genius Productions, but at least we all have a chance to see it on the big screen at least once here in the States! Check out the official Black Sheep site to see the film’s trailer and sign up for updates, and keep your eye on SXSW’s site for more films to be announced very soon!
