Bayona & Mangold Eyeing Eclipse?

Wow, it really is becoming the Harry Potter franchise with vampires ... Thompson on Hollywood has learned that both Juan Antonio Bayona (pictured, The Orphanage) and James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma) are eying possibly directing the third movie in the Twilight franchise, Eclipse.

At least Summit’s not making any qualms about the fact that there’ll be a different director again this time, so it won’t be a surprise when New Moon helmer Chris Weitz isn’t asked to return.

Both directors are strong talents and could lend a serious voice to this franchise, which, if reactions to the first film are any indication, it’s desperately in need of. Of course it’s all rumor and conjecture until Summit makes a decision, which I doubt will happen before New Moon is done. Stay tuned for updates as we hear ‘em!
