Atkins Joins Bloody Valentine

Tom Atkins is BACK!Can I get a HELL YES? Despite what some may think about the need for a remake of My Bloody Valentine, especially one in 3-D, it just added one helluva cool name to the cast list that has moved it up significantly on my “must see” list.

What is that name, you ask? Tom Atkins (Night of the Creeps, Halloween III, The Fog, etc.), people! Moviehole got the word this morning that the 71-year-old badass has been given a role in the film, though the specifics as to whom he’ll be playing aren’t know right now. All I know is it’s about goddamn time someone got this man back into our genre!

Shooting on My Bloody Valentine 3-D will start up in Pittsburgh in the next few weeks with Patrick (White Noise 2, Dracula 2000) Lussier at the helm. We’ll have more soon so don’t even think about moving!

Yeah...maybe he should have done Dracula 2000 in 3-D as well. Heh. I had no idea that Atkins was that old. Wow. He IS a bad ass. That's right...two words.

I can't wait. I love the new 3D technology and think Lussier's going to surpise a lot of people.

I'm not sold. At all. A bad remake of a bad movie in a bad gimmick? Bad.
