I know, I know, there’s every reason in the world why Alone in the Dark 2 will suck. But really, could it be any worse than the Uwe Boll original? Try and keep that in mind as we move forward.
Fangoria sat down with the sequel’s directing team, Michael Roech and Peter Scheerer, to discuss why we should try and look forward to the movie, as well as finally get to the bottom of what the film will be about. Roesch explains; “Abercrombie is accidentally injured and drops into [a supernatural world]…He finds that he holds the key to the final outcome of this conflict [between a sorceress and those who want to destroy her]. He is faced with joining the witch and being given eternal life, or joining the witch hunters and gaining something a bit different. This story is in keeping with the initial concept of Abercrombie, a James Bond kind of character who has all these different adventures.”
I’m sorry, gaining something a bit different? A bit different than eternal life? Like what? Quasi-eternal life? Weird.
The cast includes names like PJ Soles (which we first told you about here), Danny Trejo, Bill Moseley, Zack Ward, Michael Pare and many more, so there’s even less reason for it to suck!
Shooting is going down now, and the duo are hoping for a DVD release via Vivendi Visual Entertainment sometime next year. Keep it here for our exclusive set visit very soon!
