After Dark is Faithless to Perkins' 14
After Dark Films is shedding its skin as the company prepares to start producing and distributing its own horror films. The first two features to come out of this new development will be Perkins' 14 and Faithless.
After Dark's CEO Courtney Solomon (interview) had this to say about the new move, "It’s great to see the Horrorfest slate take shape as we gear up for this year’s fest. This move into producing films as part of Horrorfest is a new initiative, and these two films are great examples to launch this concept."
Perkins' 14, which will be directed by Dark Ride helmer Craig Singer, came to life via the online community at Massify, "revolves around the arrest of a suspected murderer and the bloodshed that follows." This is the first feature length film that evolved straight from the Net, but Faithless came around by traditional means.
Stewart Hopewell will direct Faithless via a screenplay he co-wrote with Tim Long. This second title will involve an abused woman who escapes her horrid situation only to find out that there may be no escape from abuse.
