AFM: Who Got What Films

The Zombie Diaries (click to see it bigger)Seriously, how can anyone keep up with all the madness that was AFM, which ran from Halloween until yesterday? There’s just too much to keep track of, damnit. So I’m glad Fangoria saved some release date news for post-show cause now we can give you a list. And I love lists! Here’s what the mag learned;

  • Day of the Dead – The Steve Miner-helmed remake will be out via Firstlook on about 500 screens, though no date was given

  • Asylum – The new film from David R. Ellis (Snakes on a Plane) will be in theaters sometime in 2008 from MGM.

  • Zombie Diaries (review) – The Weinsteins picked this one up for a DVD release; odd considering its similarities to Romero’s Diary of the Dead, which they will also release. I guess it’s easy to compete with yourself!

  • The Chair – The latest film from Brett Sullivan (Ginger Snaps 2) will get a US release via newbie Grindstone Entertainment as will another Canadian film, The Entrance

  • Living Hell – The last film produced by Dark Lot to get release, the killer plant movie has been snatched up by Sci-Fi for a broadcast premiere as one of its “original movies”. Poor thing.
  • We’ll get you specific dates when we have them so stick around!
