A Fury From Down Under

The Fury poster (click to see it bigger)We all know a remake of Brian DePalma’s The Fury is in the works. To make sure we’re kept on our toes, though, we got an e-mail today regarding an Aussie movie being made that’s also going under the title The Fury.I gotta say this one sounds more interesting than yet another remake…

James Colmer, an artist who worked on See No Evil and House of Wax to name a few, is making his directorial debut with The Fury. The story finds a group of young adults (stay with me here…) who take refuge in a slaughterhouse, which is said to be home to a malevolent poltergeist. They soon find out the rumor is true, as one of their number becomes enraged and sets out to destroy the rest.

Sure, it’s nothing groundbreaking, but the premise has potential to be a good time if nothing else. To your right you can see the first poster art for The Fury, and you can learn a lot more about it over at its official site.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Wrong Turn 2 starlet Erica Leerhsen stars in The Fury, which has a February 13th, 2009 release date penciled in for the US.
