It’s not the first time it’s happened, both John Brahm and Hugo Fregonese have tackled them in the past, so it shouldn't be surprising that another remake of Alfred Hitchock’s The Lodger is being planned, this time under the eye of writer/director David Ondaatje, according to the hounds at Production Weekly.
Ondaatje’s previous work includes the documentaries Undressing Hitchcock and Waiting for Dr. MacGuffin, so the man knows a thing or two about how Hitchcock worked. The new version of The Lodger will deal with the relationship between a landlord and tenant during a string of Jack the Ripper-esque murders as well as focusing on the burnt-out detective as he tries to catch the killer.
Production is set to start up next year in LA, so expect to hear more on this soon!
