THE LAST THING MARY SAW Adds Stefanie Scott & Isabelle Fuhrman

First-time writer-director Edoardo Vitaletti’s The Last Thing Mary Saw has just snagged a killer cast including Stefanie Scott (Insidious: Chapter 3), Isabelle Fuhrman (see below in Orphan), Judith Roberts (You Were Never Really Here) and Rory Culkin (Lords of Chaos).

The film is being described by Deadline as a “mythological horror” movie set in 1843 that follows the youngest daughter of a strict religious family who finds herself detained after discovering her ominously matriarchal grandmother dead.

The Last Thing Mary Saw will kick off principal photography in New York later this month.

Aimee Schoof, Isen Robbins, Harrison Allen, Madeleine Schumacher, and Stephen Tedeschi produce while Scoop Wasserstein serves as executive producer.

Now I don’t know about you but I’m most excited about the addition of Isabelle Fuhrman. After all, she – no pun intended – killed it ten years ago in the awesomely understated creepy kid flick Orphan. If you never saw that film, make sure to do so ASAP.

It centers on a couple played by Vera Farmiga and Peter Sarsgaard who adopt a child after the devastating loss of their unborn baby. At the orphanage, both are drawn to a little girl named Esther, and soon they take their new daughter home. But when a dangerous series of events unfold, they begin to suspect there’s something evil lurking behind the child’s angelic exterior.
