Now this is just a badass poster. I know it’s simplistic and maybe doesn’t tell you much about the film (what poster does nowadays?), but that’s the reason I love it so much; it fits the mood of Ti West’s House of the Devil perfectly.

How fortuitous that Halloween falls on a Friday this year, no? Too bad very few studios are utilizing that good fortune to release their horror movies. Freestyle Releasing isn’t one of those studios, though; they’re putting Mickey Liddell’s The Haunting of Molly Hartley in theaters this October 31st, and we’ve got an exclusive TV spot for you to dig on!

It’s been a few months since we’ve heard anything more about The Gate: 20 Years Later, the proposed sequel to the 1987 Tibor Takacs film about kids who open a gate to hell in their backyard. While months of silence are usually normal for a Hollywood production as things fall into place, the news is sadly not good for this particular sequel.

Just got word from friend and filmmaker George O'Connor out here in Boston that the episodic Satanic comedy he and his crew have been working on for the past year and a half is finally online and ready to be enjoyed by the masses!

All right, this is just freakin’ weird. I mean, of all the people you’d expect to see being interviewed on Dread Central, would Deepak Chopra even show up on the list? Hell no. But here he is, talking about a horror novel he’ll be writing for Harper Collins called Satan.

How much this will appeal to horror fans is really up to their level of patience, I think, and how the film is going to be pulled off, but The Hollywood Reporter learned this morning that Stone Village Pictures and producer Scott Steindroff are bringing Mikhail Bulgakov’s The Master & Margarita to the big screen.
