Curious to see what Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow) can do small scale? Well then, you'll be happy to hear that his low-budget apocalyptic tale Hell has been acquired for U.S. release through Arc Entertainment later this year.
While we're not exactly sure how Dread-worthy this one will turn out, some news has come our way involving bloated action movie director Roland Emmerich's new series for ABC that just may have a nice supernatural edge to it.
We saw the full international for the Roland Emmerich produced post-apocalyptic thriller Hell a few weeks ago, but now a version with English subtitles has hit YouTube. Check it out, and let us know what you think now that you can better tell what's going on.
The full international trailer for the Roland Emmerich produced post-apocalyptic thriller Hell is here, and it's heating up the interwebs. Sorry, no English subtitles, but you'll get the idea.
After his vision of Godzilla many fans agreed with that headline. Still, we're not talking about that nor do we wish Emmerich would rot in the fiery pit of Hades. What we have here is a new flick he has executive produced called Hell (aka Bright) about ... you guessed it, the end of the world.
Roland Emmerich is no stranger to gigantic spectacles of destruction, sure, but cancelled projects? That is something else entirely. Word has broken that his recently announced sci-fi project, The Zone is shutting down production just one week before filming.
Roland Emmerich is no stranger to gigantic spectacles of destruction. From the totally kick-ass ID4 to the hilarious disaster porn classic 2012, the guy knows how to destroy shit on a grand scale. Word just broke that he's working on another alien invasion flick that's poised and ready to let the mayhem commence.
Here at Dread Central we're big fans of destruction and mayhem, which is why we were so fond of Roland Emmerich's 2012 (theatrical review here) when it debuted last November. And now, in anticipation of its Blu-ray and DVD release on March 2nd, we have four clips to share detailing how some of that destruction was crafted.
If you missed 2012 in theatres, then you missed out on the feel good extermination of the human race film of the century! What a spectacle! It's near impossible not to laugh! Lucky for you the film's hitting DVD and Blu-ray soon, and we've got the skinny on what to expect!
Roland Emmerich's latest end-of-the-world opus 2012 is a mish-mash of just about every disaster movie you've ever seen. Not sure if Nomad's 2012 review (read it here) quite did it justice? Then you won't want to miss Trembles' take on the flick!
Sometimes when you think about all the chaos in the world today, you can't help but feel that maybe, just maybe, it wouldn't be such a bad idea for nature to flip the switch on us and reboot our existence. Of course Platinum Dunes would then take this idea and make a grittier reboot in about a decade from now. We just can't win, I tell ya!

I'm no fan of Roland Emmerich. With that said, his upcoming be-all, end-all disaster epic 2012 (opening November 12th) is currently tops on my list of most anticipated movies of the latter half of this year. Every trailer hypes 2012 as this terrifying end-of-the-world disaster thriller playing off real-life fears of what may lie ahead for us all in 2012, and then you watch this clip from the film and I defy you not to laugh.
While we all are eagerly anticipating the end of the world in 2012, we can start dying vicariously through this new Japanese trailer for disaster-king (this looks good, but we're not ready yet to forgive you for what you did to Godzilla) Roland Emmerich.
