Predators
Predators came incredibly close to being the movie we were all hoping that it would be. Unfortunately, it just missed the mark. We've all been waiting patiently for an update on a possible sequel, and thankfully it's finally come.
In the world of horror and creature creation, there is a very short list of names that are royalty. Among those names is the guy who creates incredible zombies (The Walking Dead and Diary of the Dead), horrifying injuries (Hostel: Part II and Piranha), and some damned fine monsters (Bride of Re-Animator and Army of Darkness): Greg Nicotero.

The number of home video releases on October 19th is not as abundant as in recent weeks, and fewer re-released titles means those that are available are much more special. In this batch one Adrien Brody flick competes with another, and at least two independent horror titles are making a splash. Two beloved classic films return in Blu-ray where one is supplemented by a documentary treatment of it.
If you were a fan of Nimród Antal’s newest entry into the legendary Predator franchise, then get your wrist blades, heat vision and bloodied spinal columns ready as we’ve got the skinny on what to expect when the flick hits home in the UK on November 1st. Unfortunately, if you haven’t yet made the climb to high-def, you might feel a little shafted...
Say what you want about Nimrod Antal's Predators. Yes, it had more than a few faults, but at the very least it was the best movie featuring these alien-hunting beasts since Danny Glover (or should we say Murtaugh) went toe-to-toe with them in LA. We're looking forward to its absolutely STACKED home video release and have every bit of news you need to prep for it yourselves!
Prepare for the most suspenseful Dinner For Fiends of all time. In addition to a quite rambunctious discussion over several of this summer's high profile genre offerings, on this high energy installment one of our very own chimes in pulled over on the side of the road by order of police due to imminent threat of a tornado warning. But if one staff member is under threat of tornadic doom, then why is it another keeps mysteriously vanishing from the show?
Though Predators was met with mixed fan reaction, it was still the best damned Predator flick to come out since the interstellar hunter blew up Los Angeles! Well guess what, kids? It looks like Robert Rodriguez is getting set to take another stab, or slice, or evisceration at getting the flick right!
According to Buz's
Predators review (click here), the film's score more than lives up to its predecessors and composer John Debney "gets" it. This Saturday, July 10th, if you're in or around Burbank, CA, you have the chance to meet the man at a CD and poster signing to be held at Dark Delicacies.
No more stills. No more trailers. No more waiting. Nimrod Antal's Predators is in theatres NOW, and we have the verdict on whether or not it was worth the wait. Here's an early hint -- HELL YES!

Here's a little early WTF Friday type action for ya to dig on! The duo behind such "hits" as The Aliens Rap and The Robocop Rap (look 'em up; we can't always do the heavy lifting for you guys), DJ MaYhem and Mouthmaster Murf are back with an all-new Predator Rap to help you get geared up for this weekend's release of the Robert Rodriguez production of Nimrod Antal's Predators.
Back in 2007, I wrote a very angry review of Aliens vs Predator: Requiem, which ended with this depressing statement: "The fact that Fox opted for this franchise instead of the Ridley Scott/James Cameron Alien 5 collaboration or Robert Rodriguez’s epic Predator 3 script will forever be one of Hollywood’s biggest blunders. Now that they’ve effectively ruined both franchises, the next move will probably be to go back and remake the first films in each series, permanently screwing the fans out of any good future installments."
And the Predators coverage continues, this time with all four clips in one convenient place! Some you have seen, some you haven't. Either way, dig it!
