Just a heads up in case you didn’t notice it; this weekend we posted two audio interviews with the cast of Friday the 13th, one with Jared Padalecki and one with the new Jason, Derek Mears.
In a good turn of events for R-rated horror, Platinum Dunes' reboot (the new, classier, way to say remake) of Friday the 13th has scared itself up some big box office this weekend, raking in an estimated 42 million, plus!
Here at Dread Central we have lots of different personalities. As a result, we have mega differences in opinion too. When a big movie like Friday the 13th comes around, sometimes the dissidence is so great that we need two reviews. Such is the case now.

Freddy fans, are you ready for a trip down a whole new Elm Street? Well, like it or not the film is being remade and word just broke about who will be taking up the directorial reigns!
After a lot of international posters for The Horsemen, finally a domestic one has shown up on IMP Awards. None of them has been exactly mind-blowing, but this is the first to really give you a whole helluva lot of Quaid all up in your face.
I love home video. Thanks to DVD and Blu-ray when a movie comes home, it can often be a different version than the one released to theatres. Apparently the Friday the 13th remake is the latest case in point!
The long-untitled Satanic project from Platinum Dunes and writer Scott Kosar (The Amityville Horror), which we last told you about back here, finally has a name according to the freaks at Sci Fi Wire; it's called The Sacrifice. Simple, to the point; I like it!
The other day we pointed you guys to the international trailer for The Horsemen, the next original film from Platinum Dunes after The Unborn. Finally a U.S. trailer for it has shown up so you can actually understand what’s being said now!
You know the time is almost at hand for our latest trip to Camp Crystal Lake so that means you can expect to get blitzed with stills, trailers, TV spots, etc., a bunch of which were just released today!
Three new stills from Platinum Dunes' Friday the 13th remake just hit the web over at a German website, DVD-Forum.at, and they depict everyone's favorite murderous mongoloid in action! Wanna see?
The first “official” TV spot for Friday the 13th has appeared thanks to the guys at The Movie Box, which you can feast thine eyes upon below. The MPAA recently gave the Platinum Dunes redux the coveted “R” rating, so any fears of them going for the cheap shot and looking for a PG-13 may be allayed.
Wow; first Platinum Dunes abandons its remake of Near Dark, now it's moving on from Rosemary’s Baby. Maybe some things are sacred after all? Is it irony that I’m referring to Rosemary’s Baby as sacred?
We just received word from the guys over at Bad Taste that they've posted the first trailer for Platinum Dunes’ The Horsemen! The site is in Italian so the trailer likely is as well (I can’t watch it to verify where I am), but at least we’re finally seeing more movement on this!
