Igor Coming Home This January

Igor on DVD!It didn’t do any kind of business to speak of at the box office, so I guess it’s not surprising that MGM isn’t dumping a lot of effort into the DVD release of “>Igor. MGM announced today that the disc will be out on January 20th and won’t have a helluva lot on it.

Extras on the standard DVD will be a few deleted scenes, bloopers and a featurette called “Be an Igor”. The Blu-ray release, out the same day, will also come with commentary by director Tony Leondis and producer Max Howard, as well as an alternate opening.

Weird. You’d think a movie about an independent-minded lab assistant, a bunny that just won’t die and the voices of John Cusack, John Cleese and Steve Buscemi would’ve been enough to make this one a hit. Just goes to show how fickle even our own fanbase can be!

Don’t even plan on renting it. HUGE disappointment. Don’t think for a minute that just because it’s horror related that you should feel obligated in any way to watch it. If you stick fangs and a cape in a turd, it’s still a turd.
Believe me, I really wanted to love it. Maybe the new Monsters VS Robots will sweep me off my feet.

I have no plans in getting this, but its disappointing that something like a commentary would be left out on the traditional release.
