Today on VOD: Bust Out the Ouija Board

As we promised last week, we’ve dedicated ourselves to keeping you up-to-date on all the latest VOD releases, as it can be very difficult to keep track of such things. Today, one of last year’s big theatrical releases is available for instant streaming, so read on for details.

Though it’s not hitting DVD and Blu-ray until February 3rd, the Stiles White-directed Ouija (review) is now available for digital download, courtesy of Universal. If you missed it in theaters, now’s your chance to check the film out, though we can’t quite recommend you do.

As our own Jinx noted in his review, Ouija is more or less a cinematic turd, likely to only thrill and chill a younger generation of horror fans. But hey, that’s just our opinion, and we wouldn’t want to get in the way of you forming your own. So check it out if you’re interested.

Synopsis:
After Debbie (Shelley Hennig, “Teen Wolf”) suddenly dies, her best friend, Laine (Olivia Cooke, “Bates Motel”), attempts to contact her using an antique Ouija board she finds in Debbie’s room. When the curious teen begins asking the board questions and stumbles upon the mystery of her friend’s death, Laine discovers a resident spirit calling itself DZ, and eerie, inexplicable events begin to follow her. The group of friends dig deeper into the history of Debbie’s house and are shocked to find that Debbie wasn’t the first victim—and won’t be the last if they don’t figure out how to close the portal to the spirit world they’ve opened.
