Resident Evil Degenerates the Web

RE Done Right! If you’re lucky enough to be going to the San Diego Comic Con this year, you’ll get to see footage from the upcoming Resident Evil CGI flick Degeneration. The rest of us will just have to make do with a website and trailer.

Sony Pictures opened up the official website for RE: Degeneration, which includes a production blog, synopsis and a trailer. This first trailer for Degeneration gives me the warm tinglies inside since it has a look that stays faithful to the games for a change.

The ‘Umbrella Incident’ that took place in Raccoon City was ended with the eradication of the deadly virus by a missile attack ordered by the government. As its operations were suspended on a global scale, Umbrella Corporation stock plummeted. This serious blow to the business giant resulted in its complete dissolution.

7 years later at an airport somewhere in the United States, an ordinary autumn afternoon, one zombie is unleashed into this peaceful scene to attack everyone. In the airport starting to fill up with the undead, the horrific disaster is about to be repeat itself.

It’s called Resident Evil, they have my interest. I don’t care how bad the movies were, the games 1-3 + code veronica are one of the best zombie stories ever so anything carrying the name makes me sit up an pay attention.

(To everyone who noticed I didn’t mention 4, I love that game, it is probably better than any of the others on their own but depending on how they explain some elements in 5 it is a stand alone franchise to me since the only thing in common are the characters.)

I always wanted to see someone make a zombie-in-the-airport movie called Dead Air. Looks like this is close enough. Color me interested.
