Ashmore Joins The Thaw

Mark A. Lewis’ enviro-horror flick The Thaw will be rolling in Vancouver as of this coming Monday, and some final casting choices are being made. THR reports that “Smallville” star Aaron Ashmore is one of those choices, signing on to play a college student. Big stretch for him.
Best known as Jimmy Olsen on “Smallville”, Ashmore also had a recurring role on “Veronica Mars”, another show far too hip for me. More importantly, though, is that he played Hutch in The Skulls II (give it up for The Skulls!) and will also be part of the upcoming kids-trapped-in-a-secluded-cabin flick Dead End.
Val Kilmer and Martha MacIsaac also star in The Thaw, which tells of an ancient killer parasite that’s released when a woolly mammoth is thawed out, and the group of college students who have to put a stop to it before it overtakes the planet.
