Pre-Screenings of Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones Send Chills Worldwide!

Pre-Screenings of Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones Send Chills Worldwide!Last night, Friday the 13th, 13 cities in the USA and 13 countries around the world got their first look at Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. Even now, many hours removed from the closing credits, the screaming can still be heard. Paranormal Activity is back with a vengeance!

Let me be perfectly clear... The Marked Ones is in NO WAY a spin-off. This is 110% franchise canon, and if you're a fan of this series, this is the Paranormal Activity you've been dying to see. Questions are answered, the mythology is taken ten steps further, and when the witches show up, it's for a hell of a lot more than just to say "BOO." It's that damned good. We're talking balls to the wall fun and scares thrown at you relentlessly with an extreme amount of intensity! This flick delivers on all counts and is not to be missed. It's nothing short of a gift to fans. The in-theatre reaction to the movie was off the charts insane. My ears are still ringing!

That being said... if you were amongst the now scarred-for-life screamers that saw the movie last night, I implore you...

DO NOT SPOIL THE ENDING FOR ANYONE

Below you'll find some pictures from last night's San Diego screening along with some of the Dread Central contest winners who met up with us...

But it wasn't just the U.S. that was terrorized...

Fear consumed the globe last evening as Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones screened internationally as well. Fans from around the world showed up in masses with some fans lining up 12 hours early, resulting in massive turnaways. Those who dared to enter were treated to photo booths, prayer cards, t-shirts and glow sticks giveaways. "Monks" even recited a prayer of protection for all those in attendance; we only hope it worked... Here are some images of that!

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones will open in theatres on January 3, 2014, and then Paranormal Activity 5 will arrive on October 24, 2014. Don't let the subtitle of The Marked Ones fool you; this is in NO WAY just a spin-off with nothing to do with the previous films. This is 100% canon and should not be missed.

Written and directed by Christopher Landon, the film stars Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts, and Eddie J. Fernandez.

Synopsis:
After being “marked,” Jesse begins to be pursued by mysterious forces while his family and friends try to save him.

Pray all you want. It won't save you. But you can follow Paranormal Activity on Twitter (@TweetYourScream) for more upcoming announcements, as always keep an eye on the official Paranormal Activity Facebook page, and check out official Paranormal Activity on Instragram!

For what it's worth, PA3 is the only one I really like. And I have high hopes for The Marked Ones.

Well...PA3 was the only one I really liked as well but I have zero hopes for The Marked Ones. It seems like the only reason I subject myself to watching these things is so I can compare mental notes during the DFF podcasts and laugh at Steve trying to polish each turd.

The trailer looks so fucking bad. It looks like deleted scenes from The Devil Inside, The Last Exorcism II, and The Possession all wrapped up into a shaky camera shit storm of cliché black eye CGI people going BOO...

I'd like to say I won't see it, but I'm a huge glutton for punishment. It doesn't appear I have much choice of films during the 1/4 release date...

I didn't even try to say anything good about 4 which was awful. If I had to pick my favorites from best to worst it'd be The Marked Ones, 3, 1, 2, 4.

Strangely enough all the odd number entries have been the best.

Haha, I know...4 was so unapologetically putrid I needed to find out if you'd risk your PA Fan Club President membership card on being 100% honest or spin the debacle into a 2.5 if I'm in a good mood direction....

And really, this one is the best ??? Because I’m right with you on ranking them 3,1,2,4.

This one edges out 3 by a little one for me. It's super entertaining and the last half hour is batshit nuts.

Submitted by Steve Barton on Wed, 12/18/2013 - 3:56pm.

Okay, as long as it's as good or better than 3, I'll go see it. I just hope that there isn't some final act revelation where the main character finds out that he's the unclaimed child of the father from Part 2 who had an affair with the hispanic maid.

This one ranks with 3, I think.

And they've finally done away with the whole "door creaking open by itself" approach to scares.

Well, there's still all the trademark moments but the powers that be have wisely chosen to amp up the scares while keeping the feel of what's come before it. Top to bottom action and fun!

I really dug the hell out of it. Totally made up for the last one.
